"Saving the Grey-Headed flying fox needs everyone's help."
The Grey-Headed Flying Fox (Pteropus Poliocephalus) is one of the largest bats in the world and is the largest bat in Australia.
It is listed as vulnerable species both in NSW and across Australia. It is illegal to harm them, handle them or try to move them without approval from the State Government.
Grey-headed flying-foxes are protected because their numbers are now reduced to as few as 400,000 mainly due to loss of habitat and food supply.
